Here is a quote I came accross and laughed at...

Oh, yes it has!

Remember when we were little kids and we used to swing on the playground? We used to swing higher and higher and pump faster and faster because we knew that someday we would go over the top of the bar and come down on the other side. And now we know that we can't. There is no possible way you can pump yourself over the top of the bar. Of course, nothing has changed...except the fact that our hopes were crushed when we were told by the older jerk kids that we would never, EVER go over the top.

It's like that all throughout life. We settle for the possible. People tell us we can't and we believe them. Things HAVE changed. People become jerks. We realize that we don't have the money to go to Stanford. We don't have the grades to go to Harvard. We don't have the stainless past to be president. We're too short to be ballerinas. We don't have any talent to be photographers. We have to have another career and waste years of our lives to be CIA agents.

What's the matter with us??? Why the heck do we listen to these people--the people who were just told that they couldn't so they become bitter and crush other peoples' dreams? HUH? Well, I CAN swing over the top. Yep. I can. And even if I don't, I'll have found out myself that I couldn't. And I will have had fun, too. I laugh in the faces of the monotone, uniform men in the gray flannel suits. They're all alike. We're all alike. We all stopped trying because we were told what reality was like. THAT'S what changed. You listened. I listened. How do we know it's reality until we've tried it?

so that's my sermon. On the stupid quote. Now I'm going to go swing over the bar on my swing...

Thanks much to California Mountain Snake and One Night in Bangkok -- betwixt you both my journal is FABulous!

Congratulations, Christine the Space Monkey for making the grade and signing our bloody pact. Exciting and promising things await you, my friend! Except movie days. You can't stay long enough for those. ;D

Well, it's 1:08am and I'm not sleepy. Rebekah and I are having our movie day and we are currently on Some Like it Hot with Marilyn Monroe. I like it! And I've seen Fight Club and found it fantastic (except for all of the F-bombs) Batman the Movie was great, as usual...and SOMEbody (JILL!) forgot Breakfast at Tiffany's. So we had to rent Little Shop of Horrors instead.

But anywho, I look forward to the other movies we have in store. I have to go. The movie just took a turn for the worst--DRAMATIC!

For those who have no idea what I am talking about, you may look at some horrendously disturbing pictures on marilynstefani's LJ. But they are rather gruesome, I must warn you...
